On the 23rd and 24th of June, TACSO Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a conference on the topic of „Corporate Social Responsibility for Community Development – A Way Forward for Civil Society in Bosnia and Herzegovina“, aiming to enhance mutual understanding and practice of corporative social responsibility (CSR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the involvement of all actors from academia, businesses, governmental institutions and civil society organizations.

The first workshop „Network Communication“ was held on 18 July 2014 in Sarajevo. The second workshop „Strategic and operational positioning“ was held on 2 September 2014 In Teslic. The third workshop „The progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European Union – Identification of areas for sectoral cooperation between governmental institutions, NGOs and other stakeholders“ was held on 11 December 2014, as a final network activity.
View moreThe initial group of Civil Society Organisations (CSO), to establish the BiH SECO ETE mechanism in the process of EU integration, on December 18/19 2014, organised the workshop event called "Participation possibilities of CSOs from the sectors of environment, energy, and transport in the programming and monitoring processes of IPA II funds in Bosnia and Herzegovina", within the framework of TACSO BH project support to initiatives, networks, alliances, platforms, and coalitions of CSOs in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The workshop gathered more than 40 participants, representatives of CSOs from the entire territory of BiH (Federation of BiH (FBiH), Republic of Srpska, Brcko District) aiming to develop mechanisms of communication and cooperation in the process of IPA II programming and monitoring in the sectors of environment, energy and transport.

Since the last updated version in 2013, this version now reflects the changes seen in both Kosovo and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. In addition, this version does not include Croatia as was the case in the previous versions.
View moreThe Conference held in Tirana, Albania on 6-9 May 2014 to introduce the document “Guidelines for EU Support to Civil Society in Enlargement Countries 2014-2020” brought together EU institutions, government and CSO representatives from each country. At the conference, plans were made to set country targets for civil society development in each candidate country in the context of EU Guidelines and to monitor progress made towards these targets. TACSO Turkey organised a one-and-a-half day-long workshop on 17-18 December 2014 together with TÜSEV, STGM and Sivil Düşün EU Programme to have CSOs discuss the outcome framework. There were 50 participants in the workshop representing 39 civil society organizations.
View moreThe TACSO BiH office organised a training programme on Project Cycle Management implemented by TACSO by VESTA as a direct response to the needs assessment of civil society in BiH. According to the findings of the needs assessment of NGOs in BiH for the period 2013-2015, the work plan of TACSO BiH for 2015, and the systematization of the most common questions received by the TACSO BiH Help desk, it was found that a large number of organisations operating in smaller communities have very limited access to technical assistance, as well as a lack of knowledge and skills to successfully manage projects based on EU applications with a focus on the logical framework and budget.

Following the first Value Added Tax (VAT) Guidelines that were produced in June 2011, this VAT guideline is now updated, since the last version in 2015, to reflect the minor changes for Kosovo and Serbia.
View moreTACSO BIH in cooperation with TACSOby VESTA in the period October – December 2015, realised serial of one-day training/consultations for a total of 26 CSOs in the area of „Organizational development with a focus on accountability and transparency”. The purpose of the capacity-building intervention was to strengthen the organizational development of each particular participating CSO, to ensure sharing of joint experience in mastering and understanding concepts, gaining practical skills in developing training outputs applicable to their organizational model of the work.

The study is based upon a combination of desk research embracing all relevant documentation, including legal and financial legislation applicable to civil society, previous civil society analyses and evaluations, policy documents and country–specific academic literature, in-depth interviews, a survey of the general population and TACSO survey of CSOs.
