Environment for non-environmental CSOs -Webinar on mainstreaming green transition – 30 November – 01 December 2023

As a part of a capacity-building activity within the CSOs’ organisational and operational capacity development area of the EU TACSO 3 project, the regional webinar on Mainstreaming the Green Agenda was organised. The webinar was implemented as a two-half-day event with the following key objectives:

• To strengthen the capacities of the CSOs in understanding their role in promoting and implementing the Green Agenda document and related action plan.
• To explore and discuss possibilities, modalities and capacities needed to strengthen cooperation among CSOs working in the sector of environmental protection and nature conservation and those covering other sectors of society development.

Target Group of the event included CSOs and CSO networks from the Western Balkans and Türkiye, those interested in cooperating on the implementation of the green transition and its mainstreaming into other sectors.

Key topics of the event included: a historical overview of the development of the EU environment and climate change policy, the European Green Deal (EGD) and its financing (Investment Plan of EGD), the importance of green transition for regional development, the key pillars of the Green Agenda (GAWB) and its financing GAWB (Investment and Economic Plan for WB), the key actors in the green transition implementation, state of play in the area of Environment and Climate change in 6 WB and Türkiye, the role of the non-environmental CSOs in the implementation of the green transition, and modalities of cooperation on mainstreaming and implementing the green transition among different actors.
